About
Rebecca Stoneham is an artist and musician based in Lostwithiel, Cornwall, in the South West of England. She has many strings to her bow and continues to build on and experiment with these, so that her practice is forever adapting and changing, reflecting the natural world that inspires it.
Her current series of works exploring fungi and animals is a visual rumination on the connectedness of all biological beings on the planet, inspired by the writings in particular of Hilda Kean and Donna Haraway. She is also exploring themes of water in thoughts on climate change, working towards interdisciplinary explorations in the future.
Rebecca is currently performing regularly as a singer within a swing/bebop fusion dup with pianist Charlie Clough, and writes her own pieces and songs in a folk-acoustic style. She completed her Masters in History, awarded distinction, in September 2024, focusing on more-than-human, environmental, colonisation and global histories, and is currently a PhD applicant looking to expand on these themes.
